Hi! I’m Sarah Liz—the creative eye and smiling face behind Sarah Liz Photography. Based on California’s Central Coast, I’m a travel photographer, a homeschooling mom of three—Merrik (9), Willow (6), and Sequoia (2)—and a wife to my husband, Larry, an Engineer Operator with Cal Fire in San Luis Obispo. Rooted in faith and guided by Jesus, I love capturing life’s most beautiful, real-hearted moments—from joy-filled family sessions and tender newborn portraits to lifestyle shoots and special celebrations. We tend to spend our summers traveling up and down California, so don’t hesitate to ask about a session somewhere new and exciting.

I’m drawn to the in-between moments: the quiet connections, genuine smiles, and the way families interact when they forget the camera is there. My sessions are relaxed and simple, focused on creating images that feel natural, warm, and timeless.

I believe photos matter because they hold memories—seasons of life that move faster than we expect. My goal is to give you images that feel honest and meaningful now, and even more so years from now. Capturing moments is both a gift and a responsibility, and I approach every session with care, patience, and gratitude for the stories I’m trusted to tell.

This season of motherhood and family life deeply shapes how I see and photograph connection, love, and the fleeting moments in between. I understand how meaningful it is to preserve not just how your life looks—but how it feels.

I’ll help you choose the perfect location and gently guide you through natural posing so you feel comfortable, while still leaving space for moments to unfold organically. Some of the best images come from the unplanned ones.

I’m always happy to help with outfits—send over your ideas, and let’s create something beautiful and fun together.
